BOOK REVIEW

Hi all,
I am Ze Xuan and I would like to share with you all the book I have read- LAO FOLKTALES.
Brief Information about the book:

This book is written by Steven Jay Epstein who lived in Laos from Year 1990 and 1997 and he returned to Sweden, working for the Swedish government setting up training programs for the ministries.
This book contains many folk tales that area interesting and meaningful. He wrote these tales during his 7 years stay in Laos.

STORY REVIEW: (XIENG MIENG THE KING EXACTLY)
The whole story is basically talking about the king and the slave. That day the king was on his way to the horse race and he told his slave to help him carry a basket of Batel Nuts. On his way there, he told his slave to only to follow him on foot.In the end, after the king had watched the 6th race, the slave, Xieng Mieng, had not arrived as the horse moved very fast and he cannot catch up and he reached there a few hours later. During the next trip to the horse race, the king told him to carry the betel basket following him as quick as possible. When he reached there, there were no more betel nuts left. The king asked him why and he told him that his instruction only was to follow him as quick as possible but not to
pick up the nuts. Overall, I think that the book is really good and you all should continue to read up.
