Thailand 'Human Zoo' Exhibits - Should their freedom be sacrificed in the name of tourism?

Thailand has been accused of turning a group of Burmese refugees into exhibits in a human zoo. Read on to find out more: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/7215182.stm

The interesting questions would be: Who are these people? Why are they displaced in Thailand? Why do they practice body modification by putting rings round their necks? Do the men do the same? Are there other hill tribes in Thailand? What is their culture like? Should their freedom be sacrificed in the name of tourism?

And don't forget start searching for cool name that is SE Asian. I have not thought of one myself. Maybe I should name myself after a volcano like Agung or the elusive butterfly Raja Brooke Birdwing or even Bayon, the famous temple in Siem Reap, Cambodia. For Ms Shyamira, I think she could use some names like Krakatoa or Legong or maybe Barong. Think of one for her too, if you are free.

Get a name that you can identify with! Then we can start posting photos and re-introduce ourselves again.
